DS4H integrates UCA doctoral schools in ICT (ED-STIC) and Law, Political Science, Economics and Management (ED-DESPEG) into its governing bodies.

It delivers PhDs in :

  • Computer Science
  • Automatic, Signal and Image Processing
  • Electronics
  • Law
  • Economics
  • Management

Located at the heart of Sophia Antipolis - the biggest science park in Europe - DS4H takes support from the local high-level research laboratories (Inria Méditerranée, CNRS I3S, CNRS LEAT, Mines ParisTech CMA, Polytech'Lab, GREDEG)  and local high-tech firms.
About 270 PhD students are registered to doctoral schools affiliated to DS4H under the supervision of more than 200 habilitated Professors.

The PhD. student training program enforce at least one qualified supervisor (holder of an HDR: Habilitation diploma to advise Ph.D.s) and a Ph.D. committee, meeting at least once a year, nominated for each doctoral project. On average, there is more than 1 HDR holder for 2 registered Ph.D. students.
You need first to look for a PhD supervisor who belongs to the list of members of the doctoral school, whose research activity copes with your scientific whishes. Do it preferably before the end of your Master and contact a few of them. See if they are interested, if they propose a PhD subject for you and be careful to inform them immediately when you have made a choice. Then, with the help of your potential PhD supervisor, inventory the possible 3-year funding sources and apply to the appropriate programs.
All PhD. students must benefit from 3 years funding to register. They are integrated in one of the DS4H partner laboratories, which provide the material and scientific environment needed. All partner laboratories are renowned research institutions with long-standing practices for leading doctoral projects.
PhD. students will be required to follow 30 hours per year of complementary training from different sources: DS4H minors, seminars, and dedicated courses on research and teaching
