Biographie

He holds a PhD (doctorat d’Etat) in economics (University of Strasbourg) and is Professor of Economics at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and at SKEMA Business School. He is scientific advisor at OFCE Sciences-Po (Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques) and member of the scientific council of La Fabrique de l’Industrie, a French think-tank dedicated at analysing industry issues. He is Honorary Fellow of the Institut Universitaire de France, former Director of the Department for Research on Innovation and Competition at OFCE, former Director of a CNRS and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis institute (Institut de droit et d’économie de la firme et de l’industrie), former President of the International Schumpeter Society and Honorary Dean of the Department of Economy of the University of Strasbourg. His main research and lecture areas are: economics of innovation, growth and development, industrial organization, economic geography. He has published many books and papers in academic journals. The more recent books are The Market Way to Riches: Behind the Myth (with M. Amendola), Edward Elgar 2006 (Schumpeter Prize in 2008), Croissance économique 2011, Armand Colin, Capitalisme and Cohésion Sociale (avec M. Amendola), Economica 2012 (Special prize of the Prix Turgot 2013), Macroéconomie: faits, theories, politiques.
