1er Thème : Write a high concept European romantic movie!

  • Genre: We’re looking for high-concept romantic feature film scripts.
  • Contained: We’re looking for scripts that are written with a contained budget in mind. The script will be assessed based on the creative merits of its concept, characters and themes.
  • European DNA: We’re looking for stories set in Europe, with feature distinctive European social and cultural elements.Europe is the home of countless romantic cities and aspirational settings. Could one of these provide the inspiration for an original love story ? N.B. All screenplays must be original and any pre-existing elements must belong to the public domain. Unfortunately, we cannot accept scripts based on material that is owned by third parties.
  • English Language: We’re looking for scripts that are to be filmed primarily in English. That being said, some characters may be speaking a language other than English, if it makes sense for the story. N.B. the spoken languages of the script should feel organic. For example, two Italian characters should be speaking to each other in Italian instead of English.
  • Modern setting and themes: We are looking for new voices and fresh ideas. The story’s setting and themes should feel relevant to contemporary audiences, and touch upon topics such as desire and commitment in today’s society.
  • Diversity: We’re looking for stories that value diversity and that are able to reflect the composition of today’s European society. For this purpose, giving an adequate representation to female characters is crucial.

  • Genre: We’re looking for high-concept horror or mystery feature film scripts.
  • Contained: We’re looking for scripts that are written with a contained budget in mind. The script will be assessed based on the creative merits of its concept, characters and themes, as opposed to expensive effects, big set pieces or heavy CGI work.
  • European DNA: We’re looking for stories set in Europe, which feature distinctive European social and cultural elements. Europe is the home of countless horror myths, legends and scary folk stories. Could one of these provide the inspiration for an original horror universe? N.B. All screenplays must be original and any pre-existing elements must belong to the public domain. Unfortunately, we cannot accept scripts based on material that is owned by third parties.
  • English Language: We’re looking for scripts that are to be filmed primarily in English. That being said, some characters may be speaking a language other than English, if it makes sense for the story. N.B. the spoken languages of the script should feel organic. For example, two Italian characters should be speaking to each other in Italian instead of English.
