Fragrances & Fine Chemistry Seminar

9-13 July 2018, Faculté des sciences, Parc Valrose

General Informations

The Fragrances & Fine Chemistry Seminar offers an introduction to fragrance chemistry and chemistry techniques commonly used in this field, and more generally in fine organic chemistry. You are cordially invited to join us, and to attend the Fragrances & Fine Chemistry Seminar in Nice, France, on July 9-13, 2018, to enjoy a highly interesting combination of stimulating scientific lectures, workshops, and discussions with a wide variety of touristic activities  in the French Riviera.

Registration fees : 400 €. The registration  includes: participation to all lectures and workshops, coffee breaks, lunches and cocktail party (Thursday 12/07). A visit of the International Museum of Perfumery  in Grasse will be organised on Wednesday.

Main Themes

General Fragrance chemistry (Natural raw materials used in perfumery, Synthetic odorants)

Domino reactions in organic synthesis (How simple protocols can be used in reactions leading to complex substrates).

Alternative solvents in synthetic organic chemistry. For environmental and sustainability reasons, a recent trend in industrial organic synthesis is to replace classical solvents by alternative ones, and this field is particularly active in the flavour & fragrance industry.

Analytical aspects of Fragrance chemistry. Modern analytical tools used for fragrance analysis, from sample preparation (extraction, distillation techniques...) to innovative analytical systems.
