Introduction

The MIASHS Bachelor’s degree offers a multi-disciplinary education that opens the door to a very wide range of career opportunities. An internship in France or overseas that grants ECTS credits (European Credits) increases the student's chances of finding a job after the Bachelor’s degree. Organized by semester into modules that grant ECTS credits, both tracks of this degree give students the opportunity to study overseas part of the time, and prepares students for different Master’s degrees: Economic Expertise, MIAGE or Mathematical Engineering in European universities or Schools of Higher Education. The MASS track prepares students more particularly for studies in Statistics or Data Science (ISUP, ENSAI, ENSAI, HEC, etc.), Engineering Schools, Business Schools (EDHEC, EM Lyon, etc.), Financial Engineering, civil service exams, etc.

Students who follow the the MIAGE track learn to: Understand, identify and apply methodological tools and IT technologies. Apply methods of analysis to design an application, develop it and validate its behavior. Design, develop and test an IT application based on a partial statement of requirement. Participate in developing software as part of a project team and participate in its release to production. The MASS track provides (i) practical training in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Economics and decision-making techniques that allow graduates to be immediately “operational”, and (ii) specific competencies in managing Databases/Data Mining, using professional software (SAS, R, Python); in object/user-oriented programming; in Mathematics (using probabilities, statistics, analysis, algebra and game theory for modeling, decision-making analysis); in Social Sciences (accounting, business management, micro- and macro- economic analyses, risk management, banking). The objective is to give students: A solid foundation in mathematical, stochastic and statistical modeling, and in business & management, applied computer science, databases and decision theory as relating to banking, finance, insurance, risk and audits. Practical knowledge in statistics, computer science, business economics and decision-making techniques, thereby allowing graduates to be immediately “operational”. Students learn more particularly to: Master mathematical, statistical and economic models as relating to banking, finance, insurance, risks and the environment. Know the different decision-making techniques in an unstable environment. Be able to use acquisition and data analysis software programs. Be able to carry out simulations using computation and data management software programs. Be able to analyze statistical data and plan their modeling. Be able to interpret quantitative and qualitative results. Develop skills in summarizing and argumenting a case. Master English, especially business English and reach a good level of spoken Italian or another language depending on the student’s career plans.
