M. Wilhelm Stannat

Stannat studied mathematics at the universities of Bonn and Bielefeld. His doctorate in 1996 at the University of Bielefeld was awarded with the Dissertation Award of the Westfälisch-Lippische Universitätsgesellschaft (W.-L. society of the university). For one year, he was a research fellow with Prof. S.R.S. Varadhan at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. His habilitation completed in 2002, and in 2006 he accepted an appointment to the Technische Universität as Professor of Statistics at the Department of Mathematics.
