Introduction

This program, unique in France and in Europe, is equally divided between ethnology/anthropology on the one hand and ethnology of the living arts on the other (ethnomusicology, ethnoscenology and anthropology of dance). It has a theoretical component, offering the student a broad general, practical and methodological culture, but it also emphasizes methods of field investigation.

The double Bachelor's program in Ethnology of the Living Arts is a multidisciplinary program in the performing arts, musicology and ethnology/anthropology. At the end of the Bachelor's program, students can apply for a research or professional Master's program in the Humanities and Social Sciences (SHS) or in Art. This program is also designed to prepare students for their professional career in the areas listed below but also to prepare them for French administration entrance exams. Career opportunities are very diverse.
