Call for Postdoc 2026 "Young Researcher Excellence Fellowships" Projects

As part of its commitment to excellence and international outreach, the IdEx Université Côte d'Azur is launching the 2026 Young Researcher Excellence Fellowships campaign to encourage the recruitment of young researchers at post-doctoral level for a 24-month period in its laboratories.
The call for proposals is designed to fund 12 contracts. All disciplines and themes are covered.

Applicants must first contact a Université Côte d'Azur laboratory or research group.

Together, the candidate and supervisor will draw up an original research program, which will be submitted via our dedicated Nuxéo platform. Successful applicants are explicitly and contractually required to apply for a permanent position (such as permanent researcher - Chargé de Recherche) at Université Côte d'Azur or one of its partner institutions, or to submit an ERC grant application.
 
Salary and benefits

Successful candidates will be offered a 24-month fixed-term contract with an attractive salary of 3,525 euros gross. An operating budget of 5,000 euros is also provided for the duration of the project. In addition, successful candidates will be offered temporary accommodation at the Université Côte d'Azur Faculty Club (with rent paid for one month).

Last but not least, the Université Côte d'Azur Welcome Center provides information, advice and personalized assistance to laureates before and during their stay at Université Côte d'Azur.

Selection

Applications will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary committee of internal and external experts. The selection criteria are as follows (in descending order of importance):

• Quality of the applicant's CV (diplomas, track record, publications, credibility of career plan).
• Scientific quality of the project presented (importance of the question, originality, technical feasibility, taking into account the duration of the contract).
• Quality of host laboratory and supervisor's CV (publications, scientific and technical environment, etc.).
• Suitability of the host laboratory for the research project.
• The project's relevance to one of the Université Côte d'Azur's IdEx strategic programs (see attached list) will be considered as an additional favorable element.

Applications must be submitted by the supervisor on Nuxéo, the platform used to manage IdEx calls for projects: Excellence Fellowships Post-doc IdEx 2026 CALL

All the requested documents must be combined in one single PDF file named as follows: candidateFirstName_LastName-POSTDOCIDEX2026

A summary application form must also be completed in parallel by the applicant, in coordination with the supervisor : COMPLETION OF THE ONLINE FORM. This form must be duly completed for the application file submitted via the NUXEO platform to be deemed eligible.
