Introduction

The Master’s in Languages Literature and Foreign and Regional Civilizations (LLCER) includes 4 tracks: -Hispanic and Hispano-American Studies(EHH): training in Spanish language, literature and culture. -Anglophone World Studies(EMA) including 2 sub-tracks; Research and Aggregation of English, or Civilization, Linguistics, Literature, and Translatology. -Italian Language and Culture (LCI): Italian Language, Literature and Culture; preparation for the Agrégation d'italien. -Tradaptation: Subtitling and dubbing of cinematographic and audio-visual productions(TSD) alternative training to teaching and research careers, preparing for the profession as a translator-adapter of audiovisual productions (master 2 only).

The objective of the LLCER master’s program is to perfect students' skills in foreign language, literature and civilization, so that they can: master the technique of text translation, develop their analytical and synthesis skills, to learn about research methodology, draft a research paper and, if necessary, master the methodology of the written and oral tests for the Agrégation test.

The training program consists of two years of study (Master 1 and Master 2). In Master 1, the program includes common courses between the EMA, EHH, LCI and TSD tracks. The latter shares most of its M1 lessons with one of the other courses, depending on the disciplinary specialization of the students. In the first semester, the TSD track introduces courses aimed at raising learners' awareness of the specific issues of translation-adaptation and improving their familiarity with cinematographic language through theoretical tools and applied exercises. The EMA track is Y-shaped. It has a common core in M1 and then splits into two sub-courses in M2: Research and Aggregation, or Civilization, Linguistics, Literature, Translation, Translatology. The LCI track also offers preparation for the Agrégation.
