Introduction

The Master’s in Applied Foreign Languages is aimed at students who speak French and who have a good level in two other languages. Two distinct tracks are offered: Languages and International Affairs: Franco-Italian Relations (LAI-RFI)track for students learning Italian and English. Translation and Business Writing (TRE)course for students choosing two of the following languages: German, English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

The aim of the Translation and Business Writing (TRE)track is to train professionals who are competent in technical writing and translations. At the same time, training consists of developing capacities to analyze and innovate, which enable students to adapt to: - the evolution of software tools and standards in the areas concerned; - the transition from one area of ​​specialty to another, from one type of translation to another. The main skills targeted are those of: - translation and management of translation projects, - design and structuring of the technical documentation, - mastery of Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) software, and content management systems. The Languages ​​and International Business: Franco-Italian Relations (LAI-RFI)track is based on the trilingual capacity (French, Italian and English) of students, for their placement in international companies as well as management of European projects. This course aims to develop several skills: - mastery of work in a Franco-Italian and international bilingual context (English); - knowledge of the Franco-Italian economic and institutional fundamentals; - knowledge and development of cross-border European projects; - knowledge of Franco-Italian cultural policies.

1st year * Common core: Project management, CMS, legal forms of companies, facilitation of social networks, language of specialty. * Teaching specific to the TRE track: introduction to technical writing and translator's tools, translation studies. * Teaching specific to the LAI-RFI track: European law/European institutions and international relations. 2nd year TRE track - Discovery of software professions (TAO, management of technical writing, PAO, etc.); - Standards for technical writing and management of translation projects, structure of xml files; - For each language: compilation of the corpus and lexicons, specialized written and oral translation, adaptation; - In semester 2, collective project in technical writing under the direction of a professional. LAI-RFI track - Translation: acquisition of a professional vocabulary; - Web communication, Franco-Italian relations and strategic monitoring, intercultural management, European integration, management of projects and regional companies in a cross-border context, regional cooperation, European funding, cross-border European projects, strategies and economic development, etc.
