Introduction

The objective of the program is to train primary/elementary school teachersfor public and private teaching. The master's degree prepares students for entry into the profession and competitions for primary education (CRPE). The CRPE laureate students train part-time and teach part-time in schools. Students who have passed the private education examination (end of M1) pursue their M2 training course in private institutions. Students interested in other professions related to education are oriented towards the Framing “Encadrement Educatif, Cadre Educatif” track.

The skills to be acquired are organized in a progression between M1 and M2: disciplinary training, professional training (didactic, reflective dimension on the job) and the common culture. At the end of the training program, students are able to: Master disciplinary and didactic knowledge Master the French language in teaching Build and implement teaching plans Evaluate student progress Share the values of the Republic Know the students and the learning processes and take into account the diversity of the classroom Cooperate within a team and with different partners

The program is articulated around 5 blocks of competences: disciplinary, didactic, research, professional practice and common culture. The master’s program also aims toward professional competences expected in the recruitment contest for school teachers and those that are necessary for the practice of the profession. The common curriculum includes courses offered in all programs (1D, 2D, EE) that train teachers and education staff: - Context of exercise of the profession (60 hours on average each year): knowledge of the educational system and students, differentiation, introduction to the ASH, values of the Republic and the School; - Living Language: fluency in a living language and didactics of a living language (average 25h / year); - Computing (18h in M1 and 12h in M2): appropriation of tools and development of digital projects. - Research awareness (25h on M1-M2 and 2h tutoring in M2): methodology, professional dissertation; - Accompanied practice (3 + 1 weeks in M1) then alternating half-time (laureates of the competition) or practice accompanied by 8 weeks (non-laureates of the competition) in M2. - The training is deployed on several sites. Some courses depend on the choice of the students (living language, subject for the preparation of the test on file) are shared between the sites. Teachers thus use videoconferencing and web conferencing systems in these instances.
