Introduction

The primary mission of the University Diploma STEPS (Skills and Training to Ensure Professional Success) is to bridge the professional skills gap graduates often find themselves facing before entering the workforce.

Recent graduates, eager to boost their employability, will find DU STEPS a unique opportunity to gain transferrable workplace competencies and hands-on experience through an internship.

This fully English online program is especially tailored for individuals aspiring to pursue international career opportunities and is open to recent postgraduate students and professionals alike.

We mentor technical and interpersonal skills in preparation for entering the job market. Additionally, developing skills and understanding of major societal and workplace trends: digital transformation, agile project management, digital marketing, and AI and a transformative internship with the opportunity to apply the skills gained through DU STEPS, giving you an edge in your career journey.

Admission

Prerequisite

Graduate level

 
  • This programme is designed for students and professionals who want to extend their skills to enter the job market, or to gain confidence as part of a career change.  
  • It is accessible to all candidates with a bachelor's degree and above wishing to supplement their experience and develop their professional skills(international students + Ulysseus included).
  • As the programme is fully taught in English, a minimum level of B2 will be required.

Conditions of applications


Applications should be submitted on our online platform, eCandidat, available in both French and English; a user manual is available on the home page to guide you through the account creation and application processes. 

The documents listed below will have to be uploaded with your application.

Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.
A CV (resume)
A CV in English to show the useful skills acquired through previous experience and to identify some personal characteristics.
A cover letter
Demonstrate the coherence between the degree you are considering and your career plans. Writing quality and clarity will be taken into account.
A copy of your valid passport or EU ID CARD
If you have applied for a passport and it has not yet been issued, please upload your receipt for the passport request/application.
A digital passport-style photo

A digital passport-style photograph of yourself in jpg or png format.

A copy of your previous university degree

In French or English or a certificate of achievement. If your diploma is in another language, a sworn translation will be required.

A copy of your previous academic transcripts
Higher education academic transcripts In French or English. If written in another language, a sworn translation will be required.
A feedback questionnaire & Authorization form
You will need to download, complete and submit the feedback questionnaire + the authorization form provided on the applications website.
Proof of proficiency in English
This document is optional.

Conditions of admission / Conditions of successful application


Once your application has been submitted, the supporting documents will be checked by the administrative department and the application will be assessed by a panel. The panel will then issue a favourable or unfavourable decision within a maximum of two months. You will receive a notification by e-mail.

If the panel needs to further clarify your motivations, they will invite you to an online interview.

If your application is successful, you will receive an e-mail from the MSc International Office, which will proceed with your registration.

Program


The STEPS program includes 3 modules: 
  1. Professional Job Searching Skills
  2. Internship
  3. Professional Future Skills
 All modules integrate transferrable digital skills and must be completed within one year of the official enrollment date.


This certification is a ‘University Diploma’, [Diplôme Universitaire (DU)], a short-course or program offered by a French University, delivering training for professional purposes. They are not an alternative to the undergraduate or master’s degree, and do not offer the same level of credits. They are generally aimed at the graduate or professional community as a path to upskilling and or re-skilling.

DU STEPS is a fully online program with no physical presence in France or the Schengen zone required. Consequently, a visa is not guaranteed. The visa application process is the responsibility of the student. Université Côte d'Azur has no influence over the final visa decision and cannot intervene in the process.

 

Course Content

Module 1 Personal Branding


Our program's first module equips you with essential skills and modern tools to stand out in the competitive job market. We focus on harnessing the power of digital applications and software to empower you in your job search and professional networking journey. This module begins and finishes with a 1-1 mentoring session.

In Module 1, you will delve into the following key areas:

  • Crafting Impactful CVs: Learn how to create multiple CVs tailored to diverse international markets, including Europe, the UK, and the US. We'll show you the ropes of contemporary styling and techniques that resonate with employers.
  • Mastering the Art of Cover Letters: Gain the ability to structure a compelling cover letter, effectively presenting your unique skills and attributes using proven writing techniques. 
  • Elevate Your Professional Presence on LinkedIn: Develop a LinkedIn profile optimized for your chosen career path, employing proven strategies to enhance your professional network and job search. Manage your online presence with confidence, including engaging in content creation through exciting mini challenges.
  • Create Your Online Identity: Build and manage your personal website or e-portfolio to showcase your achievements and aspirations to potential employers.
  • Reflect and Grow: Throughout the module, we encourage you to reflect on your tasks critically. This process helps you gain insight into your strengths and weaknesses, allowing for personal and professional growth.
Module 2 Internship


In Module 2, we shift our focus to your internship, a pivotal step in your STEPS educational journey. Here, you're not alone; At the start and end of your internship, you will receive a one-on-one mentoring session to follow up on your profress and ensure you make the most out of your internship experience. This personalized guidance will help you navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise during your internship, setting the stage for your professional development.


As part of your internship, we encourage you to maintain a journal. This journal isn't just a record-keeping exercise; it's a dynamic tool for self-reflection, growth, and creativity. By documenting your daily experiences, thoughts, and insights, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your chosen field and personal growth throughout your internship.


The journal you keep will play a crucial role in your final assignment, where you have the freedom to express your experiences and knowledge in a way that resonates with you. You can choose between two exciting options:

  • Written Report (10-15 pages): Dive into a comprehensive written report, delving into the details of your internship experience. Share your observations, challenges, successes, and insights in a structured narrative that demonstrates your mastery of the subject matter.
  • Engaging Video (3-5 minutes): Embrace your creativity by crafting a captivating video. Share your internship journey in a dynamic, visual format. This option allows you to showcase your storytelling skills and creativity.
Module 3 Professional Future Skills

In Module 3, You will follow self-study topics. These topics have been identified as important transferrable skills in the workplace: 

  • Digital Transformation
    Gain a comprehensive understanding of digital transformation and its significance in the contemporary world.
 
  • Agile Project Management
    Explore the fundamental concepts of agile project management and put them into practice.
  • Digital Marketing
    Explore the world of digital marketing, and learn about online strategies and tools to promote products and achieve business objectives.
  • A.I.
    This track offers three distinct branches for personalized learning: Beginner, Managerial, and Specialist pathways.


At around 10 hours each of studying, these topics will introduce you to the main ideas of each subject. With support from your mentor, you will be encouraged to apply this knowledge in your internship, giving you the opportunity to directly implement new skills and understanding. If your academic background is in any of these topics, you will be able to personalise your study path, with help from your mentor.

Submission


Tuition fees are €1,557 for the whole year.
  • Students already enrolled at UniCA will benefit from the preferential rate of €657 for the whole year.
  • Students will also have to pay the CVEC.
  • Students enrolled in this programme will not be eligible for CROUS scholarships awarded on the basis of social criteria.
IMPORTANT: As this is a fully online program and does not take place in France, your student visa request is not guaranteed.
