Introduction

The Bachelor's program in Philosophy teaches students to use conceptual and logical methods of analysis that allow them to develop a clear personal opinion, conduct a reasoned discussion and write compelling texts.

By the end of this program, students have learned the various doctrines recognized as major moments in the history of thought, by studying directly the fundamental classical and contemporary texts of the discipline. Students also acquire a vast general education. Students are also trained in using conceptual and logical methods of analysis, and in summarizing their thoughts. These capacities are necessary to develop and clearly communicate a personal opinion, to hold a well-argued discussion, and write well-structured and convincing texts. This program provides a fundamental and demanding general education, but also helps students acquire intellectual habits of logical and argumentative rigor and precision in the use of methods of analysis and in summarizing information. This program gives them access to professions in philosophy, but also to a wide variety of professional careers.
