Introduction
Computer systems are ever present today. Objects are becoming increasingly connected and are constantly exchanging information of all kinds with each other or with servers in the Cloud.
All of this raises serious concerns about security.
The two tracks in this program are designed to meet these two challenges.
Objectives
At the end of this program, students are able to manage a complex local network that includes servers, switches, and routers. Thanks to virtualization, the entire information system can contain highly redundant servers, connections and network hardware, which ensure the security and reliability of the entire system.
ASUR track (Administration and Virtualization of Systems and Networks):
Smartphones, watches, tablets, PCs, servers, data centers, cars, etc. all these objects can be connected and therefore accessible via the Internet. The daily life of the world economy depends on its proper functioning. Graduates of the ASSR professional bachelor's degree are experts trained in dealing with the challenges of hyper connectivity. They are competent in everything that concerns administrating, networking and securing IT systems.
Graduates are system and network administrators. Their expertise focuses on defining how the IT system is managed, updated and virtualized. They also ensure its reliability and supervision within a company or a data center. They know how to develop tools for automating administrative tasks and managing web application databases.
Unique features of the program:
Professional certifications (to be confirmed):
Windows Server Administration, VMware Virtualization
CISCO CCNA
Languages: TOEIC
Competencies:
Organize and plan your work and know how to lead a development project.
Install, configure and administer Windows and Linux operating systems and associated hardware in potentially complex environments.
Offer virtualized services in order to share resources and save energy.
Develop tools based on scripting languages for Windows and Linux in order to automate tasks related to system administration.
Manage the users of these IT resources: manage directories, control access, install the main services required by users within the company.
Implement the supervision of networks, systems, applications and ensure their security.
Design, deploy, and administer a local or multi-site network.
CyberDef track (CyberDefense):
Graduates are experts in many areas of security. Their role ranges from "ethical hacker" to "network defender". They prevent threats, study risks, both technical and legal, alongside the IT, legal and human resources departments. They participate in the design and infrastructure of computer and telecommunication systems. They are able to perform audits and vulnerability tests on the network and other systems, and to deploy tools for performance measurement, surveillance, intrusion detection, in-depth protection and analysis of traces collected during attacks.
Unique features of the program:
Professional certifications (to be confirmed):
Cisco CCNA, audit
CSNA Stormshield Firewall and Cisco CCNA Security
Languages: TOEIC
Competencies:
Organize and plan your work, communicate and be able to participate in a project that requires knowledge of both French and technical English.
Understand the importance of an IT security policy.
Assist during audits to learn how to implement security solutions identified by a risk assessment.
Analyze and report incidents.
Install, update and "harden" Windows and Linux operating systems to protect them from threats.
Administer users and their IT data on local workstations, and monitor access rights to servers.
Ensure a permanent level of security of networks, systems and applications.
Design the architecture, deployment, and robust interconnection of local networks by VPN.
Know how to implement effective governance in terms of cybersecurity.
Specificities
The MI ASSR program corresponds to 60 units representing 480 hours of classroom lectures, tutorials and practical work.
The ASUR and CyberDef track share basic courses. This ensures that students maintain a good level of communication in English and French while they learn the basics of project management, law and management required fo any company work. It also provides a common technical foundation in systems and networks. The content of the two tracks is very different, and corresponds to different jobs. Specialty courses represent more than 50% of the student's academic schedule, and of preparation for professional certifications. A significant number of courses leading to professional certifications (CCNA for example) are e-learning courses taken independently online; the supervised, classroom part corresponds to practical training and exams.
This is a work-study program (2 weeks in class and 2 weeks in a company, unless otherwise agreed) from September to June. It ends with a 12-week period in a company.
