Introduction
The Master’s in Science and Engineering of Materials delivers theoretical and experimental education for the development of new materials, in the fields of:
energy management,
alternative energy,
materials science.
The training program offers two distinct orientations:
P3M "Physics of Materials, Mechanics and Digital Modeling" track
N.I.C.E "Nano & Materials, Industry & Management, Design & Quality, Energy & Environment" track
The master's program trains researchers, company executives and research, production or control engineers within public or industrial research organizations.
Objectives
The core curriculum of the Master’s in Science and Engineering of Materials allows students to:
• use experimental tools for physical and mechanical analysis (viscometer, microscopy, etc.) and computer modeling tools (finite elements, etc.);
• acquire the theoretical knowledge in physics, mechanics and physico-chemistry necessary for understanding the behavior of materials (polymers, metal alloys, composites, complex fluids) and processes;
• learn about research practice through laboratory internships;
• know about energy issues, new sources of energy and environmental issues;
• master life cycle analyzes, environmental management.
Objectives of the "Physics of Materials, Mechanics and Digital Modeling" (P3M) track
Train students for the research and development of new materials, their characterization, the study of their behavior (mechanical, physicochemical, etc.), the analysis of transformation processes and the use of software used in the laboratories of research and development centers.
Objectives of the "Nano & Materials, Industry & Management, Design & Quality, Energy & Environment" (N.I.C.E) track
Quickly put students in contact with companies through a work-study internship, give them training in the various professions of the company, especially computer-assisted engineering.
Train project leaders in engineering positions in companies in the field of materials, energy and the regulatory field associated with the development of new materials.
