Introduction

This training program is particularly aimed at students who are interested in the transformation of social systems and issues related to the governance of contemporary societies at the local, national and international levels. The aim is to train future graduates who are fully qualified in the field of political science, have benefited from openness to other disciplinary contributions, and are capable of providing real expertise in decision-making. Two specialized tracks are offered in the 2nd year of the master’s program: "Political expertise and public affairs" track "Migration studies, political studies option" track

The objectives of the program are to train future executives and specialists to bring their knowledge and skills to enable institutions, organizations, associations or interest groups to make decisions that are balanced and coherent with their resources. The program is therefore particularly aimed at students who are interested in the transformation of social systems and the issues related to the governance of contemporary societies at the local, national and international levels. It is also intended, and more generally, to train future graduates who are well qualified in the field of political science and who have benefited from the openness to other disciplinary contributions, guaranteeing their understanding of the issues involved and the constraints of decision makers and their mastery of complex issues. For those who are interested, a "research" orientation is offered to allow continued study at the doctoral level.

The students receive in-depth training in Political Science in the first year of the master's degree, which is both theoretical and empirical. The preparation of a research dissertation makes it possible to address a personal objective in connection with the contemporary problems and is the occasion to initiate a transition towards the professionalization. The students thus receive instruction that gathers all the variants of political science, with a disciplinary introduction towards the public law. The internship is compulsory in the second year of the master's degree, for those who choose a "professional" option, and an internship is encouraged in the first year of the master's degree, to ensure an early professionalization of the students. The second year deepens the theoretical knowledge and skills (writing, oral expression, conducting surveys, communication of results). Courses in the second year of the master's program are essentially "seminar courses" which require the students to carry out research work prior to the sessions. This second year is the period of determination of the professional objectives, since, beyond the theoretical courses (in political science, law and sociology), the students really specialize according to the course they choose ("Expertise of the policy and public action "or" Migration studies major Political studies ").
