Introduction

The track in economics and management of trade and distribution industries (EMICD) prepares students for managing retail and mass distribution companies. It aims to provide the competencies in management, law and economics needed to understand the strategic local development practices of retail and distribution companies, as well as the forms of competition and development that characterize their sectors of activity, both nationally and internationally.

Unique features of the program :

  • Both tracks of the master’s degree in economics of organizations are sponsored by CFA EPURE Méditerranée, created by the PACA Regional Council to develop the employability and professional skills of students. As such, both tracks have been designed for students with an apprenticeship or professionalization contract, or who are returning to school after a professional experience (Fongecif contract).

  • The program is also backed by the corporate relations department of the ELMI Graduate School and thus by many companies, government agencies and major industrial groups, which all contribute to developing and funding apprenticeships and helping students transition to the professional world.

  • The EMICD track was developed with the support of companies in the retail sector. Several of these companies provide instructors who are active in supervising students or teaching specialized courses (Casino, Carrefour, Carrefour Market, Metro, Sephora, Auchan, Conforama). The Federation of Retail and Distribution Companies and DISTRISUP are strongly committed to the program and have helped Université Côte d'Azur develop the program.

Throughout the program, students acquire the following competencies:
  • Understand organizational needs.
  • Perform organizational diagnoses.
  • Manage different forms of change.
  • Use project management methods.
  • Manage specific aspects of SMEs, SMOs and companies.
  • Identify different forms of industrial and commercial competition.
  • Gain knowledge in management liability law, labor law and commercial law.
  • Create and transfer companies.
  • Master different forms of management.
For more information about the program’s satisfaction rate, please contact the head of the program.
The rate of success was 100% in 2022/2023.
