Damian Markham LIP6, 22/03/2024, Inria
In the context of QuantAzur activities, it is our great pleasure to announce the seminar “Towards useful quantum computation" of Damian Markham, DR CNRS and responsible for the Quantum Information team in LIP6, Sorbonne Université.
In this talk we will discuss the winding path towards useful quantum computation. We will present some recent results on sampling and other 'NISQ' (noisy
intermediate scale quantum) approaches to quantum computing, as well as some obstacles to them reaching useful status.
We will discuss some steps needed to reach large scale fault-tolerant quantum computing and some hopes of applications there also.
Damian Markham is a DR CNRS and responsible for the Quantum Information team in LIP6, Sorbonne Université.
